ABOUT THE ALBUM

When I sit down to make music, I often reflect about all the time I spent taking the train and riding buses when I lived in NYC and how I used that time to decompress at the end of any given day. Staring out the window of a bus or train, observing city streets, graffiti covered walls and forgotten alleys on my way home. A lot of what I make is created with that exhausted commuter in mind, someone on their way home at the end of the work day, or someone cruising around a city trying to catch their breath or zone out.

My friend Logan Hicks created a large scale mural on the Bowery Wall in 2017 titled “The Story of My Life” that perfectly encapsulated the layers of people and buildings and busy streets that blend together into everyday life, as you just try to get when you're going. Some figures are friends, and some are strangers, a constant mix of the foreign and familiar - similar to how I make music. Mixing new and old, dusty and shiny, gloomy and hopeful, ambient and noisy, into a collage of sound that is dedicated to that feeling of wandering slowly through the streets of any given city, whether past or present.
