LUVJONEZ and BRYVOX - TROPICAL BLOOD: A LOFI REGGAETON EXPERIENCE
Tropical Blood is a collaborative instrumental EP from Luvjonez and Bryvox, blending elements of chill hop hop vibes and bedroom pop into what the artists call “LOFI REGGAETÓN”. The influences for the album combine boom bap-style sample chops, downtempo BPMs, vintage dembow drums, mellow synths, and hazy Caribbean-inspired rhythms into a contemplative soundtrack for warm nights and midnight drives.
Built from dusty drum machine loops, melodic textures, hypnotic percussion, experimental electronic elements and subtle basslines, these tracks move between nostalgia and movement, with equal parts late-night headphone music and slow-motion dance floor energy. Influenced by the artists Puerto Rican and Filipino roots, analog production and live instruments, and the DIY spirit of underground beat culture, Tropical Blood explores the tension between softness and strength, memory and migration, and the history of rhythm and place.
Created entirely in Portland (OR), this project celebrates collaboration and the beauty that emerges when different musical worlds meet with the aim to create a timeless body of work.
